In her now-immortal novel Twilight, Stephenie Meyer describes Alice Cullen, sister of tween dream Edward, as a “devastatingly, inhumanly beautiful” pixie vampire with “obsidian eyes” and an “exquisite, elfin face.” Most actors would rather not admit that casting decisions were based on anything other than their craft, but 23-year-old Ashley Greene—who brought Alice to life in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and this summer’s Eclipse and is signed on for next year’s Breaking Dawn—has no such illusions. “Yes, I’m very thankful that Stephenie Meyer wrote a character that I happen to look like,” says Greene with a laugh. Given the series’ rabid “Twihard” fan base—legions of whom were locked in long before the film’s first scene was shot—if Greene hadn’t been an eerily perfect fit for Alice, the filmmakers would have heard about it. “The fans were already there,” Greene says. “Before they knew Ashley Greene, they knew Alice Cullen, and they all had an idea of how she looked.”

A new moon has risen at Mark.

The youth-focused boutique brand of Avon announced that it has signed Hollywood’s “it girl” of the moment, Ashley Greene, as the spokesmodel replacement for Lauren Conrad — whose contract just ended.

“Mark has been on my radar not only because of their great fashion and beauty products, but because the brand inspires young women to feel beautiful inside and out. Through this partnership, I’m looking forward to empowering young women to feel confident, pursue their dreams and make their mark in the world, just like I’m making mine,” said Greene.

Fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier will shoot the “Twilight” star for print and online advertising that will debut this fall, and Greene will also appear in the brand’s philanthropic campaigns on ending dating and domestic violence against young women.

Word is, the 23 year-old actress was tapped in part due to her own charity work empowering young women through organizations like DonateMyDress.org, which encourages girls to donate their dresses to others who can’t afford a gown for milestone events such as proms, sweet sixteens and quinceañeras.

But playing makeup cover girl isn’t the only thing the busy actress has on her plate.

Greene is set to star in up to six films through 2011, with the June 30th premiere of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” first up. Other projects include a lead spot in Warner Bros’ “The Apparition,” the comedy “Butter,” an indie flick “Skateland,” and yet another notch in the series that made her famous, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.”

It’s no wonder the actress told WWD that her favorite Mark. product is Light Bright Eye Gel.

We hope she stocks up.

“I feel most beautiful at night when I take my makeup off and it’s just me. I don’t get to see that a ton,” Twilight Saga star Ashley Greene told us. “It’s just come about in the last few years. I wasn’t quite as confident when I was younger.”

A smoky eye can be too tricky for the sweaty season. But a super-bright lipstick confers the same quantity of pretty polish. If you’re fair-skinned, choose hot pinks and reds with blue undertones; the medium-to-dark-skinned should try orange-based reds and vibrant plums.

What do I think?
This is possibly the best fashion choice Ashley has made. The dress is fabulous. Sleek, yet very sexy. Shows off the right amount of skin without being trashy. It compliments her so well. The white on black is perfect. This is the new Hollywood glam, A+!

I do not like this dress. I find it unflattering to her figure, and her beauty. Its just to bland. There is no real design should we say to it. I feel it was a bad fashion choice.
